What a fantastic evening! Four Class 6 boys took on the challenge of the 2017 Lego competition. They had to build a vehicle ensuring they followed the building instructions fully. They also used teamwork, determination and excellent communication skills. After 2 hours building and programming their vehicle in three separate challenges the boys are through to the final coming second place. Bring on the final in February.
The children had a fantastic time at the Michael Rosen theatre visit.
It was a language rich environment, which we are sure will inspire their own creative writing.
The children were extremely well behaved and a real credit to our school.
Year 3 had a fantastic time at Telford Park along with their Year 3 peers from across the Elston Hall Academy Trust.
The children certainly brought the science of forces to life!
A magical start to Christmas for children in Reception, Year 1 and the Learning Resource Base as they travelled on the Christmas Cracker Express Steam Train.
They had a fantastic time, and were all pleased to hear that they were on the 'good list' from Santa.
We have had some great fun at Kingswood during the autumn term.
We have been mud painting, flag making, orienteering, meeting the animals, climbing trees, den building and much more.
The children had a fantastic but wet day on the farm. They got to meet the reptiles, feed the goats and lambs and collected eggs from the hen house.
Reception had an amazing time at Wonderland. They visited the homes of their favourite fairy tale characters, had fun at the fair and enjoyed a story told by the Mad Hatter.
Year 4 had a fantastic time at the Dudley Museum and Art Gallery. The children enjoyed looking at the different artefacts from the past.
Years 5 and 6 had a great time at the Woodlands, even though they got wet and muddy!
The children enjoyed many new activities including an assault course, archery, canoeing and a go on the zip wire.
'As part of our Science work we have been learning about different types of animals. To finish off our learning we went to see the animals at the zoo. We saw lots of animals including a lioness, tigers, crocodiles, giraffes, flamingos, meerkats and lots more. We even got to hop on the train for a lift down to see the farm animals. It was a great day!'
Year 2 had a fantastic time on our residential visit to Kingswood. They took part in a wide range of activities. They showed their daring side when they were climbing trees, working their way round a rope obstacle course and taking their turn on the zip wire. There were lots of opportunities to learn about different animals when the children met Nelly the tortoise and Treacle the rabbit, including those that we found in the pond. Ieva and Gursimran were lucky enough to find themselves a newt each! The children worked really well in their teams to build a den large enough for their whole group and they had to work together to create a bird’s nest when we went on a walk to Kingswood Common. The children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Kingswood and many of them have asked if they can return with their families!
Year 3 undertook a long journey to Nottingham to experience a real sandstone cave. We had a fantastic time and learning some amazing facts about Nottingham. We learnt how people used to lived underground, where people used to go to the toilets and nice and horrible job people had to do. We even learnt some interesting facts about sandstone that linked really closely with our Science topic Rocks. Year 3 did Palmers Cross extremely proud, behaviour was impeccable, excellent questions were asked to further their knowledge and perfect manners were used.
