What a strange few weeks it has been as we all try to adapt to a different way of living! However, it has been really lovely seeing some of the children back in school and I know teachers have enjoyed their phone calls with families and hearing about all the lovely things that the children have been doing at home.
We are now trying to turn our attention to plans for the end term, summer holidays and of course how things may ‘look’ in September.
The summer term will end on Friday 17th July and from this point on, the home learning will no longer be provided as we hope the children and their families will be able to enjoy a rest without the additional stress of completing work. You have all done an amazing job over the last few months and we appreciate that this will have brought its highs and lows.
We have also made the decision that this year, we will be unable to offer any form of summer provision for the children. This is due to low staffing numbers and maintenance work that includes new roofs and heating systems that need to be carried out over the break without children in school buildings. We realise this may be a challenge for some families who will have child-care implications, hence we are trying to provide you with sufficient time to enable you to make alternative arrangements.
We are now beginning to devise our plans for September as we are looking forward to welcoming all the children back into school. However, we are not yet in a position to share these plans as we are still awaiting further guidance from the government. Hopefully, we will be able to include a further update for families, alongside your children’s reports which will be sent out by post on Friday 10th July.
Should there be any further changes following the end of term, these will then be shared via the website.
Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times.
