We wish all our Year 6 children the very best as they sit their SATs this week.
Class 3 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Jaguar Land Rover. They were treated to a tour of the factory where they learned how man and machine work together to build the engines. The children had to use their scientific knowledge to test the friction of different surfaces. In the afternoon, the children were put to the test in the Engenious Challenge! The challenge involved building a model of a four cylinder internal combustion engine with moving pistons and crankshaft. Class 3 worked really well in their teams and made us very proud.
Class 7 and Reception had a fantastic day at Rays Farm on our school trip. We had a tour of the farm where the children learnt all about the different animals and how to look after them. They were allowed to feed some of the animals and had the opportunity to go in with the goats so they could stroke them. Whilst we were on our visit we were fortunate enough to see a baby goat minutes after it was born.
Following a nice picnic on the grass we went on an adventure into the woodlands where we explored the sculptures from different stories and nursery rhymes. We used these sculptures to retell the stories. The children had a brilliant day with lovely weather and learnt a lot about how the farm runs.
Class 2 really enjoyed their habitat learning in science today. We used magnifying glasses to look closely and pooters to collect minibeasts.
All children donated money to take part in a danceathon and design a red nose for Comic Relief. School councillors were very impressed with everybody's dance moves and nose designs.
Thank you and well done to you all for taking part.
Children loved dressing up as their favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day.
The whole school have amazed us with their costumes - thank you so much for the effort that you have made!
