On Tuesday 13th November, Class 5 had a fantastic visit to Birmingham Art Gallery and Museum. They took part in an Greek Art master class and a Greek Gods workshop. They got the chance to paint using the red figure technique and etch into card to create geometric patterns. In the other workshop they got the chance to act out famous myths by dressing up and using props.

The day started with a wonderful, moving assembly performed by our Year 6 children to commemorate Remembrance Day. During the day pupils took part in many different activities which taught them what life would have been like during the Great War, while also learning about the significance of the day.
Class 3 produced some excellent pieces of work on remembrance day. They enjoyed writing their own poems and making their own poppy wreaths and biscuits.
Class 5 have enjoyed a range of activities for Armistice Day. They have written some superb emotive letters from soldiers, made trench cake and completed a range of art activities.
Reception had a lovely time celebrating Remembrance day. We pretended to be soldiers marching, we used pastels to create pictures of Flanders field and we designed medals for people we thought deserved them.
We hope you have had a wonderful half term break and we look forward to seeing the children safely back in school on Monday 5th November.
In science we have been exploring our senses including our sense of touch to see if we can figure out what something is by feeling items and not looking at them. This helped us understand that our sense of touch helps us understand the world around us.
Congratulations to our newly elected school councillors!
In our English we have been learning all about instructions. We spent some time following written instructions to make different craft items such as a paper plate fish.
Parents' evening takes place on Tuesday 16th October for Year 3 only, on Wednesday 17th October for all year groups and Thursday 18th for all year groups except Year 3. If you have not yet made an appointment please return your appointment slip as soon as possible as this is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and share any relevant information regarding their learning. We look forward to seeing you.
We enhanced our learning on Christianity and learnt lots about the features of a Church. Children took part in several activities creating their own chalice, stained glass window, a tour of the church and even designing their own stole.
Class 3 had a great day on Tuesday 9th October.
Year 3 arrived at Cannock Chase and took part in a range of activities linked to our Stone Age topic. Pupils were organised into their own tribes, built shelters in the forest, had a go at archery to catch their dinner. Pupils also made their own fire using a flint. Their behaviour was super and they all really enjoyed the day in the sunshine.
