Mother's Day Celebrations in Reception
Four children in Year 6 attended the Lego competition at RAF Cosford! During the full and fun packed day the children had to build a robot for their first task , which had to have an attachment that allowed it to carry a cup of water over a circuit that was already set out, and each person in the group was observed on their input to the project. During the afternoon and their second task, they had to create a robot that would be good at playing football. After playing many teams, they reached the final and were runners up. The teams were being observed over the day for teamwork, speed, ideas and completing the tasks. When they had finally gathered all the marks at the end of a fun packed day, Palmers Cross Primary were announced the winners.
Well done, we are very proud of you!
Thank you to all parents and children that produced such brilliant water cycle projects!

Finally we shared fortune cookies with each other and learnt about their significance.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, Class 3 spent the afternoon creating Chinese drums with paper plates, lolly sticks, string and beads before decorating them with Chinese symbols. They worked together to thread the beads which was particularly hard but made some fantastic piece of art and music.
Year 5 looked at Chinese numbers and did some formal written methods using Chinese numbers. In addition, they investigated Chinese blossom trees and did their own piece of art. They also looked at Chinese New Year Facts.
Year 5 did Palmers Cross proud yet again with superb attitudes at the Quick Sticks Festival.
Year 5 have been cooking again - butter biscuits were on the menu this week. Yummy!
Palmers vs West Park

This was a very close match on a cold, very soggy pitch. The boys played extremely well and battled to the very end. West Park scored just before half time to go 1:0 up. After half time, Palmers put a string of passes together and scored an equalising goal. Unfortunately, with 1 minute left, West Park went on the attack and scored at the death.
Final score 2:1
