We hope that you and your children have had a very enjoyable summer break!
The Autumn term is always a busy time for children in Year 3 with lots of new learning taking place as well as consolidating previously learnt skills. In our Science work we will be studying animals including humans; our History this term will be learning about the Stone Age and our Art planning will focus on creating cave painting to link with our History topic. English and Mathematics will continue to be taught daily and focus on key writing skills and mathematical calculations.
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school at all times; PE kits can be purchased from the school office. Can we also remind parents that children will need pumps included in their indoor PE kit and trainers included in their outdoor PE kits; children may also want to have some warmer clothes for outdoor P.E. as we move into autumn and winter.
Please can we remind parents that no jewellery should be worn in school with the exception of stud earrings, and in line with Health and Safety guidelines these should not be worn on PE days, Children may be asked to remove earrings before PE sessions.
For their morning snack, children can bring a piece of fruit to school, which they can enjoy during reading time.
Children in Year 3 receive regular homework: purple creative homework books will be contain termly projects and spellings will be given out on Friday, which we will expect in the following Wednesday.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me; I will usually be available at the end of each day. We look forward to a busy and exciting term ahead.
