Happy New Year! Welcome back to the Spring term and to 2018! We trust you had a lovely holiday and look forward to a term full of learning and progress.
We will start the Spring term learning all about ‘The Vikings’ during History and ‘Circuits’ during Design and Technology, followed by our Geography topic of ‘Asia’. Science objectives concentrate on States of Matter. Pupils will continue to learn French in their Modern Foreign Language lessons, whilst RE focuses on Hinduism and religious buildings.
In English we will continue to build on our skills through a variety of texts and genres, starting with Treasure Island. In mathematics, we will be applying our times table skills to written multiplication and division, as well as developing our understanding of fractions.

PE continues on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school. Additionally, group 2 will begin their swimming lessons on a Friday and must ensure that they bring a suitable swimming kit. The children will travel to each session in a minibus. We have asked for a small contribution of £1 a week towards the cost of the minibus.
Thank you for your continued support
Children In Need
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school at all times; PE kits can be purchased from the school office. Please can we remind parents that no jewellery should be worn in school with the exception of stud earrings, and in line with Health and Safety guidelines these should not be worn on PE days. Children may be asked to remove earrings before PE sessions.

Children in Year 4 receive regular homework: purple creative homework books will be used for termly creative projects, spellings will be given out weekly and Maths and English will be given out on alternative weeks where possible.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, I am usually available at the end of each day.
We look forward to a busy and exciting term ahead and we thank you in anticipation of your continued support.
