We hope that you and your children have had a very enjoyable half term break, and we would like to welcome everyone back to the second half of the autumn term.
The autumn term is always a busy time for children in Year 4 with lots of new learning taking place. In our Science work we will be studying “Sound”, our Geography learning will concentrate on “Asia” and our DT planning will focus on “Healthy Eating”. History is taught chronologically so we will be learning about the Anglo Saxons which will link nicely to Anglo Saxon painting in Art. English and Mathematics will continue to be taught daily and focus on key writing skills and mathematical calculations.
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit in school at all times; PE kits can be purchased from the school office. Please can we remind parents that no jewellery should be worn in school with the exception of stud earrings, and in line with Health and Safety guidelines these should not be worn on PE days. Children may be asked to remove earrings before PE sessions.
Should you wish, children can bring a piece of fruit to school for their morning snack.
Children in Year 4 receive regular homework: purple creative homework books will be used for termly creative projects, spellings will be given out weekly and Maths and English will be given out on alternative weeks where possible.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, I am usually available at the end of each day.
We look forward to a busy and exciting term ahead and we thank you in anticipation of your continued support.
